Samsung P777 - Question and Impressions
Saw the P777 in person the other day. It is a slick and well-built phone. I'm considering it even though it lacks bluetooth and a speaker phone. The screen looks impressive and the colors were dazzling. The slider mechanism was chic and solid feeling. I like!
Info is hard to come by. Someone mentioned that they can receive both ATT and cingular networks on this now. Does this phone then just search for the stronger of the two network signals? Important to me because by my house ATT is strong but Cingular is a little finicky.
Finally, some of the info says no standard 2.5mm earphone jack. What does this have? I use (I think) a standard earbud for my e307. Strangely enough, I sprang for the Samsung one and the quality was terri...

I have next to me, a P777 and my D500.
You get what you pay for: The P777 has a poor slide compared to the D500, no BT, and an external antenna, yuk.
But EDGE is good, display is good, MP3 will be good but if like the D500 you can't do anything else.
I can't try it out yet as I have to get it unlocked first ðŸ¤

Actualy the D500 is going for 388 on plemix.com and Cingular home page has the P777 for like 300...whoa a diff of 90 bucks...big deal i'll take the D500 over that imposter any day!! and by the way if you want me to show you how to enable EDGE on the standard black D500 let me know..

the d500 is WAY better than the p777. The p777 has NO bluetooth and NO speakerphone. Hell the basic fee nokias we give away free with activation have speakerphone and cameras.
This p777 is just like the d415. VERY expensve, and missing a TON of features.
One bad thing about the d500 is that I can't use it in my area becase it lacks the 850 band or I would never need another cell phone becuase that phone is BAD ASS!
