Dimensions of SGH-i505 vs. SPH-i500?

by peter_hogness    Jan 4, 2004, 9:23 PM

I'm trying to decide whether to get a Samsung SPH-i500 or wait for the SGH-i505.

Poking around on the Web, I haven't been able to find any clear-cut info on dimensions for the forthcoming i505. Closest was this:
"It is estimated to be about 2"x4" when closed."
A little vague, but the only numbers I saw anywhere-- from
http://www.palmzone.net/mobile/modelsphone.htm »
No estimate cited on thickness.

The SPH-i500 is only 3.4" tall, and if the i505 is really 4 inches or more, that would probably much decide the issue for me. It'd be nice to have the higher-rez screen of the i505, and the i505's twist-&-flip display would be very useful for the PDA functions-- but the key thing I'm looking for is a single device that's closer to the dimensions of my current phone than my current PDA.

If anyone can help me with specific info on height, width & thickness of Samsung's forthcoming SGH-i505, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks.
