SGH-T319 and Data Kit

I bought Samsung phone (SGH-T319) from T-mobile. I need to upload my contact information (either from text file or Outlook file) to this phone.

I was told to buy a Data Kit which I did. It was PKT139TBE. However, after calling Samsung website, I was told that the Data Kit will NOT do what I want it to do, ie: transfer contact information from a computer to the phone.

Is that right? If so, what is the purpose of that Data Kit? And how do I achieve my goal of transferring my contact information?

Thanks,

PS: any cable will need to be with the USB port, as I do not have any other port (serial nor parallel) in my computer.

Got the same question but for my new T329.

I don't have an internet subscription for the phone so I can't surf but I can send pictures via telephone to my PC's email address-very cool.

What I'm wanting to do is download pictures from the T329 to my PC. I downloaded and installed Samsung's free PC Studio 3. I need to know if the Data Kit you bought (apparently a mini USB plug to plug into the phone's charging-accessory socket and a normal USB at the other end to connect to the PC.
