I find it amazing that if so, there seems to be no coverage by Phone Scoop.

In 2009, Phone Scoop reported that Casio, Hitachi and NEC merged.

In July 2013, Phone Scoop reported that NEC Quit the Smartphone business, but simultaneously debuted the Commando and continued to sell it through September 2014, where it then disappeared from Verizon's shelves.

On October 1st, NEC Mobile Communications dropped "CASIO" from its name.

Does this mean the G'zOne is no more? Is that it? No fanfare? Are rugged mil-spec smartphones no longer a concern in the marketplace? I find it hard to believe that this subject isn't of greater concern or fanfare.

Any advise on how to get "names" to display instead of "phone numbers" on group texts.

I previously owned the 3G Commando; I just "upgraded" to the C811 4G LTE. It will not sync with my pickup truck. My truck is a Ford F250; my old phone worked fine. At the Verizon dealership, we flawlessly linked a Motorola and a Windows 8 phone in my pickup. We then tried my new phone in in the Radio Shack dealer's F150 (with Sync) and had the same disappointing result. 😡 It appears there is a flaw in the software that will not allow the Casio C811 4G LTE to link with the Ford Sync program. The dealer and I called Casio, but received no assistance.

the rubber seal for the battery wasnt seated correctly and it got water inside while I was at the pool today. its currently sitting in a jar of rice to pull the moisture out. Is it done for? I've only had the phone for a couple of days and would hate to think that I just tossed all that money away.

Phone is a little over a year old with no major issues. In the last week or so I began to experience the following problem.


When I swipe to gain access to the security lock key pad, I don't always see the whole keypad. On a very random basis is will only display the numbers 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, OK, and 0. The right side with the other numbers does not show up. It looks almost what it would look like in a "landscape" position versus a "portrait" position.


Again, it is a very random problem and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do reproduce the same results

Is there a way to get ahold of one of these in an unlocked version? I'm not even on Verizon yet, but I see they add bloatware to the phone like AT&T does their various phones.

I just purchased the Casio Ravine2 and I really like this phone. However, I do have a concern about the hinge. When the phone is closed, the hinge seems to be loose, but when you open the phone it is solid. No shaking at all. Is this normal?

Has anyone heard anything about the new Ravine? I heard its called the Ravine 2 (model: C781). Release date? Specs? Anything??

I am interested in the Casio Commando C771. Specs. say it has a 3.5 mm audio jack. I really like the headset with microphone that I have used for years on my Nokia 8537i to speak hands-free on the road and while at my desk. Will this same headset with a mike work on the C771 just by using a 3.5 mm male plug X 2.5 mm jack adapter to plug it into the Casio ???
