Android VS Apple

I kept getting into this debate with people about why so many phones are better than the iphone. Finally I was taken down by the question, "then why do so many people have iphones?". I told her that it was a brand name thing, Apple products are in right now and thus everyone wants an iphone. When in reality, just like a PC is better than a MAC, Android phones (most of them) surpass any iphone. I just need to find better points to make for this sort of debate. Any suggestions or feedback?

I figured some things out. So Steve Jobs was hands down one of the best sales people you could ever ask for. He could sell you a paper bag for $100 if he truly wanted to.

What people seem to forget though is that a MAC is half the power of a PC and yet it sells for 3x as much. The Iphone may be compatible with other Apple products, but just TRY to attach your Iphone to your Windows run computer. It is a pain and honestly very difficult. Apple products are meant to pair with other Apple products.

The Android is far more powerful and does not only pair with Windows and MAC, but also Linux. Steve Wozniak, one of the FOUNDERS of Apple does not use an Iphone, but a Google Nexus and has been quoted to say that the Iphone is good, but an An...

Why is Android superior to Apple? Just look at the specs. You can't argue those hardware specs. High-end android phones are way ahead of Apple products, and offer much more of a selection and better customization features. LTE blows away 14.4 H+ (even the H+ droids were rated for 21 Mb/s).

Apple is a terrible company. They trick stupid consumers into believing they had lowered prices with the release of a new iphone, yet they cut the memory down to 8 Gbs. Memory is one of the more expensive features on a phone both to make and buy... People think they are getting a cheaper iphone, yet they are really still getting an over-priced iphone that also dropped in quality (in the form of memory), and not just price. Greedy... They can always get...

Alright, I'll agree with you on that, the man was a fantastic salesman...

"Steve Wozniak, one of the FOUNDERS of Apple does not use an Iphone, but a Google Nexus and has been quoted to say that the Iphone is good, but an Android is just simply better and more powerful."

If you're arguing about phones, that should mean something to you.

The huge difference between the two is that with an IOS device you get the experience only apple wants you to have whereas the android your experience and interface is completely up to you and what you want to do.

I really don't understand why all the hate from apple. I had android phones for 4 years and they were great (moment and evo). I recently got an iphone 4 though and it is just as great. A lot of people say they are really locked down but I haven't found any apps that apple doesn't carry. It kind of comes down to what you want out of a phone. On android you can definitely customize a lot more. There really isn't anything you can't do to it with enough tinkering. That really wasn't something I missed all that much when I got my iphone. It was fun to customize but it really wasn't something I needed. Most of my time is spent in apps or making calls and while it looks cool getting to said apps, it just wasn't a deal breaker. On top of that, with ...

I hope to see in the future that Sammy and Apple would unite to build a good dang phone. That will be a huge sales hit, since both of them is like half and half in terms of smartphone sales. It's like having a retina display in a SGS III spec-phone, or a joint design on top of the other..

Galaxy SIII is only a few pixels shy of having the same pixel density as a retina display. And considering that you're not going to hold a 4.8 inch screen nearly as close to your face, they're comparable in terms of quality.

you do realize pc has over 300 known virus' where mac has less then 70 right? i have a pc so i'm just saying they are safer. more expensive as always with apple but in the case of phones i have evo 3d my girl just got iphone4s. i might switch to the iphone because the siri feature works better then the droid version. but either would be better if you went through a training program for your voice. but it is what it is.

It's a constant battle in my house with 1 iphone and 3 androids. It's not serious though...it's an ego thing πŸ™‚ Marketing is very important in sales. Mr. Jobs did a fantastic job in that area.

I'm not an iphone user and probably will never be one, but it's choice and money. I want what I pay for and the droid seems to work for everything I need at a reasonable price.

I appreciate the fact that Apple offers to "link" it's devices-but it's not something I want to get roped into for years and pay more money for and technology changes

Apple's technology will probably always maintain compatibility. That's a huge selling point for them.
Ensnare the world with iTunes, and it makes it easier to lean them towards your phone/mp3player/computer/whatever they want to add in the future.

You're:
a) The luckiest person in the world for getting a phone that works perfectly.
b) You haven't had the iPhone long enough.
c) You have low-standards, or don't need those features the iPhone lacks.

If it fits your needs, then good for you. But when it comes to which phone's better than the other in general, it takes more than if it fits you or not. An "ideal" phone should keep on pair with current technologies, not lack them, whether you use such features or not, a premium device should allow you to decide, not to make the decision for you.

I think it's very similiar to the pc vs mac dilemma.

PCs outperform, but come crippled with bloatware and five years later are a spy-ware infested hunk of junk

Apples are overpriced, but at least five years down the road it's still going to work solidly, in much the same way that it has the whole time.

Although people probably don't care about what happens to their phone after 5 years, they do care about the prestige associated with it after one or two years.

Someone with an Iphone will have an Iphone two years from now, it will still be a respectable phone with some prestige.

Someone with an android device will have a buggy video player that doesn't support the latest resolution/games/mentalmasturbatoryaid

Not quite... if you manage to over come batterie issues and have access to the internet 100% of time, then I understand why you prefer the iPhone.

To say that software bugs are an Android exclusive, that's a total lie. iOS 7 is buggier, Apple keeps releasing update after update to fix bugs and bugs. In the case of Android, bugs vary depending on the manufacturer (most of the cases, like the Motorola camera bugs for instacnce, which only affects Moto devices), not the OS. At least not that frequent.

And I highly dounbt an old Mac can perform as good as new after a few years. Not even updating a Mac.
You can't tell me you can make a Mac running OS 10.5.2 run as good a new one even with updating it to iOS 7.
PC's get infested with Virus...
