Rooting an EVO

I'm a bit behind the times and as a result, I'm using an EVO I bought off somebody recently.

I want to root it, but I have zero experience doing so. From what I understand, I can pretty much just go online and download the software onto my phone. I'm not asking how to do it; I'll figure that out. I'm just asking which root I should use.

What's your favorite?

but I would troll through the development section of the evo fourms on xda, you should get a good answer there.

Idk, was doing it for a friend. Thunder stick looked like the most stable, best features. I miss my og Droid for all the roms and mods.
