Which smartphone do you use? Cause it seems some smartphones have trouble with live wallpapers. Like for example when I turn it off, or do a restart, the live wallpaper isn't there anymore upon start up.

I use the Samsung Droid Charge.

Droid x2

I usually have no problems, unless it uses a lot of cpu. I love switching them out on the regular. There is a mario lwp thats not on the market that is beast. I think i got it from xda or droidforums.net.

What makes you ask? Did it sound like I had problems?

Just curious what specs it takes to handle lwp's better. Lwp's sometimes slow down the overall operation of the phone.

I like the one called hyperspace, that one is really cool. And one that doesn't take too much processing power that is nice is one called light grid, small blue squares shuffle around. Some of these live wallpapers take up a lot of processing power, and slow the phones over all operation down.

I have the Samsung Droid Charge. Am happy with it, but am seriously considering getting the Galaxy Nexus.

Perticularly for the size. I wonder what 1.2ghz dual-core + 1gb of ram does for speeding up web browsing.

I wonder what a 1.5 dual core with 1 gig of ram would do? The rezound > Nexus

I really don't think an extra 300mhz would make all that much of a difference. One difference between the Rezound & GNexus that matters to me is the GNexus has NFC, if I'm going to pay $300 + spare batteries, I want to.make sure I am ready for the FUTURE, as in having the ability to make mobile payments at retailers.

That's not a feature I would choose a phone for. And no, 300 mhz might not sound huge, but thats 25% more processing speed than the nexus right off the bat. Not to mention OC'ing you will be able to reach a higher speed. Not to mention NFC isn't anywhere ready for the masses.

The rezound is very quietly the best smartphone in verizon's current line up, and the jury is out wether or not the Galaxy Nexus will actually be a better phone than the 'Zound.

NFC is a technology that i'm not sure will ever become hugely popular. It has way to many holes to work successfully right now.

which is basically just a programming environment. To program Android, you download an SDK called "JDK" for Java and then a separate one for Android... though I can't recall its name at the moment.

Corona is pretty much a lua interpreter for Android that builds your lua files into the Java package.

Yeah I got lost when they started talking about JDKs but im pretty sure I have that too. Looks like ima have to pull out the laptop tonight.

Have you tried your hand at android apps? You seem like the most programming prone person on phonescoop.

Alliteration, YAY!

I never really got past the "Hello World" stuff without getting annoyed. I enjoy coding, but I don't have the patience for dealing with dependencies and namespaces and such, so I just stick with my lua.
