Samsung Gem help!

Honestly, I have never been on a forum thing before and I am not sure this is even the right category for what I need help with. Might as well ask anyway though.

I have a Samsung Gem and I am trying to send a picture to my aunt. I know that I can send pictures, but the picture never sends. It usually says that the file is too big. Any suggestions on what to do or why my picture won't send?
