What is the difference between Android 2.1 and 2.2?

The major difference is that 2.2 has a Flash plugin.

Flash objects are animations or games that require a special plugin in order to run. Most desktop PC and McIntosh browsers have the Flash plugin built in or downloadable, but it's not as common in mobile browsers.

Most people really just want it so that they can play Farmville (a Flash game) on Facebook from their phones.

Ah. Is there anything else I should know? I'm getting an android 2.2 phone very soon so I'm hoping it was a good choice

Flash was the big one. You'll also have access to apps that were written specifically for 2.2, so the Android Market's a bit more open to you. I think there were other changes, but my understanding is that they're mostly under-the-hood type tinkerings.

Saving apps to the SD card instead of using the internal memory is the other big one. i'd love to have that option on my phone right now.

Live wallpapers work on 2.1 doesn't have to be 2.2. I'm currently running 2.3.1 (GingerBread) on my HTC Hero and I've had live wallpapers since 2.1
