Can anyone tell me which Android phones CANNOT be rooted?
I'm looking to get another phone because my rooted G1 is awesome, but the battery sux and there isn't a headphone jack. Want the Nexus, but can't afford it on my current contract. So, I've got it narrowed down to myTouch3G, or the Cliq XT. But the ability to have root access is a must. Does anyone have a list of Androids that do NOT have root capability?

ok, google is the best way to find out if root exists for a phone, other than just knowing a crazy long list of phones with it from being way to big of a tech geek... I can list a fair number, but no way is it a complete list.

Yes, I went with the myTouch 3G 1.2. Needed that headphone jack and better battery life brother. I still have my G1 as well though.

You're able to root it, but man is it a pain in the ass. The sprint hero sucks to root, I was unfortunate enough to get the version of cupcake that disable "One-Click" rooting. I tried everyway imaginable, and finally got a long-winded way to do it. Now, I'm happily running DamageControl 2.1 🙂
