Nexus One 3G/Reception Issues?

Does anyone know how far off Google is in solving the Nexus One's 3G/Reception issues? Or how I can stay on top of it and be notified? I have T-Mobile and I want to buy one, however, not until that is solved. Thanks. 😢

The 3G issue is bogus in my book. The only people having issues with 3G on a Nexus One are on the fringe of the 3G coverage zone. I have not had any issues with my 3G on my Nexus One at all. As well, they released an update the first week of February that fixed the issue with the phone not switching back to 3G when you got back into 3G coverage area(this is the only real issue it ever had, and once again was related to the fringe of the 3G coverage).

I have both a G1 and a Nexus One, side by side my Nexus One actually gets better signal than my G1. Here is a thread from xda-developers where someone started it to show the issue is "real"... as the thread progresses several xda members, myself included, did as scientific as you can test...

Thanks.....I have a G1 also. The thing is that I've heard so much about the 3G issue, and I would have to pay full price for the phone. The thread you posted sheds some interesting light on what I have heard.

Yeah, it is one of thoe things... engadget, as much as I love them, has really been biased against the Nexus One. So anytime someone says "oh I have a problem" they ponce all over it, even though there is little real world eveidence to support it.

I paid full price for mine, and feel like I got a great deal. If you like your G1, and think you can live without a physical keyboard, then go for it! I have a review on this site of the Nexus One with my pro's and con's, if you click on my username, there is a review tab on the profile page you can click on and read my review.

Irish....I just bought the Nexus One and am getting it via FedEx tomorrow. I have a question which Google, HTC and T-Mobile couldn't answer. Will the T-Mobile Dash 2-in 1 Vehicle and Travel Charger work with it? It worked with my Dash and my G1.....Thanks.

The Dash and G1 use a mini-USB charger port, and the N1 uses a micro-USB charger port, so you will need either and adapter or new charger.
