GPS Navigation

I'm with Verizon and want to upgrade to a new phone. For my wife I would like to get a pda or pocket phone and install a navigation program like Streets and Trips with gps. Can I do this, if so is there a fee with Verizon to use this program, should I switch to another carrier. Also any recommendations on phones would help.

i have a hitachi g1000 that i bought off ebay new for 157 bucks that has gps and there are people working on getting a program to use the gps in the phone. Hope they get it up and running oon. there might even be a navigation program out, i just got the phone and am still looking for programs for it. Def check ebay for this phone though cuz it retails for alot of dough.

I use a PPC 6600 with CoPilot software. The product works as advertised but the display is difficult to read in bright light. Another benefit with CoPilot and an internet enabled device you can set it up so others can check up on your location on the world wide web.

An easier solution would be to use a stand alone GPS. Using the GPS system is still a free service.
