Smartphone vs Pocket PC (Standard vs Professional)

Hey all, I am trying to decide between phones at the moment. What exactly is the difference between these two platforms?

Can a user do everything with a smartphone that one can do with a pocket pc? Is the touchscreen the only difference, or do the pocket pc (professional) versions have extra capabilities or some kind of advantage?

Thanks in advance!

There are definitely some major differences, but it all depends on what you want to do. I have an HTC S620 (same as the T-Mo Dash) running WM 6.1 Standard, and I love it. It's clean, fast, and the Standard interface is compact and easy to use. I personally don't like having to use my finger or a stylus to do stuff on my phone - I'm just a button kind of guy. On the other hand, if you want to do serious work in Office docs, or you want a huge screen or big QWERTY keyboard, you need to go Professional. For me, though, it's overkill. I also like that Standard phones are small and thin!
