Replying to: Are there any worthwhile palm/verizon phones? by Subvertx Apr 16, 2004, 4:31 PM
I have a Kyocera SmartPhone QCP 6035. It's a monochrome Palm OS device, and it works on Verizon. I got it for about $50 used on ebay. Works a lot better than my old Sprint pcs phone. Verizon used to offer these new. Try & get it with the USB cable if you can. No problems syncing with my Mac S 9 or OS X. I did have a problem with the palm usb adapter, but it may be just old & worked over. I had to unplug/replug to get it recognized. Then it would work ok until the next reboot. I now use a Keyspan US-28 (I already had it) and it works flawlessly.
I like it because I now have 1000 people on speed dial. But, as with any PDA, it's difficult to look up anything while busy driving. Yeah, there is a voice dial, and a jog wheel on the left side, but I still need to look up the rest of the numbers.
If you want a more deluxe model, try the Kyocera 7135 Or Treo 600 ($500). Verizon Wireless is now offering the Treo 600 on their website.
