Hey Swingkid,

I've had experience with both carriers using the Treo 650 and here are my thoughts.

The others that have responded gave great insights on the phone, but this is my 2 cents worth.

Cingular: everyone that I know (including my experience) has had a difficult time (to say the least). The phone constantly resets itself. I live in the Bay Area and it has a reputation of being a piece of garbage. The people I know have returned it time and time again.

Verizon: I currently have my 3rd Treo since May of this year. I live only a few blocks from downtown San Francisco and every carrier gets full bars in my apartment. All of a sudden I start dropping calls (more dropped calls in 1 week than the previous 14 months on Verizon's service). The Treo is not a good phone, but as a PDA it's pretty amazing. I'm not getting rid of it because oh the PDA feature.

My suggestion would be to see if Verizon has good coverage and get it if you have to have it. It's the lesser of 2 evils. Hopefully, by the time the Treo 700 becomes available Palm will have figured out how to put a good antenna on the phone.
