Palm?

Why do they even try? Why? They are a fat fat phone with limited features and the same OS on the new phone can be seen on an old phone 10 years old. Do people still buy them? If so why?

Use Blackberry as JUST a phone?????

I'm a cheapskate.... and would like to get a blackberry for my cell phone and have the calendar features(sync'd with my computer) instead of carrying a second pda around.

However all the extra 'blackberry' charges seem outrageous. You need a phone plan - plus a blackberry plan??!!

Can't someone just use the blackberry as a phone and the rest of it as a pda? I don't need wireless email. However I hear the perl has wireless (which I assume if you are in a hotspot you can surf the internet using the perl?)

Anyone know of any carriers or plans allowing you to use the pda as a phone with out all the extra charges?

Thanks!

Thinking about a Palm Centro (At&T)-Questions?

Hi everyone. I'm thinking about a Palm Centro for my first smartphone. I'm still in the dark ages of useing a regular phone. My wife has a BB 8700 series which she loves and I like that she gets her emails instantly, but the as a phone it stinks. I know the Centro is a completely different format, but I like it's size, price point, etc. This maybe a dumb question - Does the Centro also have email? If I have the centro turned on and someone sends me an email, would it show up instantly like my wifes BB? I know my wife has a BB package and an ATT wireless email and her business email also goes to her BB. Does the centro do the same thing? Again, sorry for the dumb questions, I'm a novice.

Thanks - JP

Versamail options

Does anyone know how to turn off or clear the auto-recipient feature in versamail? This feature is when you start typing a email address and it brings up a list of previously sent to email addresses.

Blackberry 8130 sync compatibility with Mac

I am running Palm Desktop 4.2.1 on my Mac OS 10.4.11 and am considering getting a Blackberry 8130 (Verizon carrier) to sync contacts, calendar, etc between computer and phone. What is the best (most reliable) software that will assure seamless sync compatibility? I am aware that there have been compatibility issues in the past. If not BB 8130 is there another smartphone that would facilitate the transfer or would I be better off installing Outlook/Mac or use the Apple AddressBook and iCal? Thanks in advance for your help.

Centro vs. LG Fusic(lx550) - Intergrated GPS

ok can some1 clarify 2 me on y the fusic or even how the fusic has full gps on it & according to the specs on phonescoop, n several other sites its only A-GPS enabled n so is the centro according 2 phonescoop as well as other sites,, but it doesn't support telenav w/o the gps doddle sold by telenav. to my understanding its A-GPS is like a relative gps but not true gps. it uses the E911 type of gps to find your location. I've carried a Fusic 4 a lil over a yr then switched @ the centro on to learn that i lost my gps n the process Crying or Very sad ... don't get me wrong i love my centro!! but i jus kinda feel lied to by the advertising team the claim the it was goin to b gps enabled... it only supports google maps n they've launched a version the uses yo...
