AT&T today announced that it has reached an agreement with Sprint that will allow AT&T to sell AT&T-branded wireless service using Sprint's CDMA network. The five-year deal will make AT&T a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), similar to Virgin Mobile, which also uses Sprint's network. The new service is planned to launch later this year, after Cingular completes its acquisition of AT&T Wireless. AT&T also announced its intent to offer dual-mode wireless / Wi-Fi phones that also allow customers to make VoIP calls over broadband connections in homes and businesses.

But really... everyone seems to be getting a peice of Sprint. Liberty Wireless, Qwest, Virgin Mobile, and now AT&T. I guess Sprint will be pulling up to be one of the top two carriers with all these new companies and customers...
Is Sprint going to be able to use AT&T's existing GSM network?

Yep, Sprint is definitely signing MVNO deals left and right.

It's smart. The reason is capacity and spectrum. They have plenty of it. They were doing fine before 1xRTT, then they were very aggressive with 1xRTT voice-enabled phones, allowing them t...

I'm pretty sure they will offer monthly plans. Qwest (another Sprint MVNO) is probably a better analogy than Virgin. Like Qwest, part of AT&T's goal here is to offer "one-stop shopping" for communications, including both traditional long-distance and ...
