Apple Just 'Renewed' with Google on Maps App

Speaking during an interview with AllThingsD's Walter Mossberg and Kara Swisher, Swisher asked former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, "Will the map relationship end" with Apple? In response, Schmidt said, "I hope not, we just renewed with them." Google provides the mapping data used in the mapping application for Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Schmidt didn't provide any additional information about the terms of the deal. What it does mean is that Apple will not be using another source for its mapping data, at least in the short term.

Enough Already!!!

Four years with a crappy version of google maps app is enough. Let's get some turn by turn voice navigation. Or better yet, why not just pay Google more for their nav app.
I wouldnt say it is crappy. Its the same google maps that comes standard with most smart phones available. I think its a heck of a lot better than the maps application that comes with WP7
...
If you want Turn by turn, get Telenav Navigation or some other GPS application. I know that their is a bunch of them for the Iphone. I have Telenav on mine, it hasnt caused me any problems.
