Effective today, Bing will become the preferred search and mapping application for BlackBerrys. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that Bing will be deeply integrated into the operating system level of the BlackBerry platform by the end of the year. Ballmer noted that this will be much more deeply built into the platform than simply just providing Bing search and maps. Ballmer said that Bing's presence in BlackBerry OS will go far beyond a search box. Microsoft and RIM did not indicate when the integration would take place, and which devices will be first to offer it. The stand-alone Bing search app is already available to BlackBerries via App World.

This is why BB fails again

I have had the "Bing experience" on my VZW Fascinate... it was HORRIBLE!!! The "decision engine" always decided what I DIDN'T want. The same series, Galaxy S, on my Epic (I have both) that uses Google... no comparison. There is a reason why Bing will always be behind Google. Needless to say, 1 rooted phone later, and MS no longer controls my search button on the VZW.

nail in the coffin

that is the nail in the coffin that will keep me away from ever going back to a blackberry!!!
Bing... Google or nothing. Fail.
not necessarily because Bing just uses results already generated by Google.

Who gives a flying fig about 'the default search engine' anyone who does searches on a phone uses a mobile app anyway....

This is just about the least consequential Blackberry realated announcement of the last year.

Bing is better than Google!

Google is too controlling and manipulative of their search results. Glad to have Bing!

Poor old chap #MEGAFAIL

(Every time I read comments like these, I can not help but wonder why there are still redmond fanboys)

As a Side Note, you don't need to be a SEO expert or understand the search engine algorithms to realize no one...
