Microsoft confirmed today via a post to its Windows Phone Blog that the first significant update for its Windows Phone 7 platform — which will add copy and paste, better market search, and other features to WP7 handsets — is now being targeted for dispersal during the second half of March. Microsoft explained that it wants to take some extra time to evaluate the small update it pushed out starting in February to make sure it doesn't see a repeat of the problems that it had with some handsets during the update process. Microsoft says that this small delay won't impact the timely delivery of future WP7 updates. (The next update includes multitasking, a Twitter feature, and a new HTML 5-friendly version of Internet Explorer Mobile.)
