Verizon Wants Lots and Lots of LTE Apps

Verizon Wireless is close to opening an LTE application development center in San Francisco. The aim of this center will be to provide a place where app developers can run their apps on a controlled portion of Verizon's LTE network alongside Verizon engineers. Developers will be able to get performance data about their apps, as well as receive feedback from engineers on how best to maximize app performance over LTE. Verizon will also have marketing staff on site in order to help developers and Verizon determine how those developers might best position their apps. Verizon is so confident about the strength of its LTE network, that it is essentially asking developers to take it to the limit. In a meeting with spokesperson Jeffrey Nelson, Verizon told Phone Scoop that it is anxious to see how creative developers can be in putting its LTE network to use. Verizon imagines a lot of video and/or video-centric apps will surface. Speaking about the initial launch of its LTE network, Verizon noted earlier this year in its fourth quarter financial report that 68,000 customers had purchased LTE laptop dongles between Dec. 5 and Dec. 31. Nelson said that number was way beyond their largest predictions for initial uptake of LTE.

"Verizon is so confident in the strenght of it's LTE network"

If Verizon is so confident in the strengh of their LTE network then why don't they allow more than a useless 10gb/mo?!!?

Speed is for video, video is data intensive, Verizon's 10gb cap renders the speed of LTE useless because 10gb's isn't enough.

So Verizon's measly 10gb cap to me shows lack of confidence that their LTE network can't be used what speed is for.

Show some confidence Verizon and allow 30-320gb/mo.

I'm certainly not confident in Verizon's network. Their advertisements are more like fairy tales than reality.
Its because they want money too.
Someone has to pay for all of this new 4G network equipment and backhaul.
...
It's that little thing that makes the world-go-round... PROFIT.
...
"Verizon is so confident about the [ability] of its LTE network" to generate tons of cash that they're encouraging developers to create high-bandwidth apps....
