Nokia has scrapped plans to launch the Symbian^3 based X7 handset, which was set to debut on AT&T's network prior to next month's Mobile World Congress event. A source cited by the Wall Street Journal indicated that the launch was canceled because Nokia didn't believe partner AT&T was going to provide enough marketing support and deep enough subsidies for the device to successfully compete with the leading smartphones. Nokia will still launch the device in other markets. Nokia has struggled in the U.S. market for several years.

I guess if it worked for the Sham-WOW

Maybe a little bit of marketing could help Nokia.

Oh, except their last two or three attempts at marketing focused on a sport most Americans tend to ignore, soccer.

And the software is crap anyway. I personally haven't heard a single person comment "oh hey, I want a Nokia phone because it's easy to use or does a lot of stuff, or its unique and intuitive".
Yes, software must be crap considering they overhauled the whole OS, of which 99% of people that seem to comment on Nokia have NEVER tried.

Best not to be sold next to that AT&T garbage anyway

It's unfortunate that consumers in the states still can't get a decent phone through their carriers.

But Nokia is wise to stay away from the junk peddling AT&T who sells dime-a-dozen-Samsung/Motorola/Sony Ericsson/LG phones that break like a toothpick, have poor call quality and suddenly lock up for no reason.

The X7 is a high end phone, so it wouldn't interest those users anyway. AT&T has another reason not to push it... because it would lure too many unsatisfied iPhone users.
sounds like a bitter nokia fan boi.

nokia hasn't released a quality handset in the states in years.

What's Nokia?

Anyone?
Nokia is the number one handset manufacturer in the world. I hope this answers your question.

This is news why?

By canceling this garbage AT&T has managed to sell as many X7's as if they had launched it, 0.
