Research In Motion recently introduced a new set of developer tools for both its PlayBook operating system and BlackBerry 6. The new WebWorks SDK for PlayBook OS will allow developers to create applications that are compatible with both PlayBook OS and BlackBerry 6. This will let developers target both platforms with a single application. RIM also debuted several new SDKs for BlackBerry 6, including an updated BlackBerry Payment Service SDK in Beta, BlackBerry Push Service SDK (v1.0.1) and BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse (v1.3). These tools will help developers add features such as in-app payments and subscriptions, as well as better gain better insights on app statistics.
