Responding to reports that Best Buy stores have yanked stock of the Motorola Droid Pro and Droid 2 Global due to a product recall, Verizon Wireless said that's not the case. Spokesperson Brenda Raney said in an email to Phone Scoop, "We can’t speak for Best Buy — but both the Droid Pro or the Droid 2 Global are popular sellers. How they manage their inventory is their business but there are no recalls on those devices." Several Best Buy retail locations contacted by Phone Scoop reported that they pulled the devices from store shelves today for an unknown reason. Consumers interested in the Droid Pro or Droid 2 Global can find them elsewhere.

So according to our rep

I work for Best Buy and according to our rep the only reason they were taken off shelves is because Best Buy simply doesn't want to sell the phones and wants to put the funds towards some newer phones (guessing 4g) that are coming out soon.
Thank you for this information, I hope that this information is 100% accurate. I decided to return the accessories I purchased for the D2Global in advance. I had gift cards for BBY specifically for this phone.

Verizon phones

This is where Verizon falls short. They have a good network but their phone quality is some of the worst I've used. I've been with several carriers and Verizon tinkers with their devices too much and cuts them short. AT&T has great devices but the media hype says their network isnt good.

Eh, choose your poison.
No, with the exception of the iPhone, ATT's selection isn't that great. And they lock down their phones quite a bit as well.

Just ask any ATT android user.
Ummm....... you realize that this article stated that there was NO RECALL right??? So what is the purpose of your post? If it was just to say that AT&T is better than Verizon, then go back to the AT&T forum. Oh yeah and have fun on your iPhone!

...which Verizon phones have you owned or used? Without a doubt there have been some *Bleep*ty ones and I owned one of them (Silver Motorola Q).
Truthfully, I don't think any carrier can claim to have 'better' phones that its competitors. They all get the phones from the same manufacturers...whatever carrier you go to, the phones are going to be made by Samsung, Motorola, Palm, RIM, Nokia, Son...

Bad Batch?

Maybe Best Buy received a bad batch of phones and is recording a high return rate. I've been in the wireless sales industry for several years and have seen this happen a couple of times with different handsets.
No. Verizon said they were selling them for to cheap and pulled them from Best Buy.

I hope this is a sign of Verizon starting to play hardball with these big box stores.

no problems with mine

Had it for about a week now love the device love the KB! 🙂
I've had the Droid Pro since before the store's launch date. And aside from a weak battery (though root and work arounds kinda fixed the issues and drain) I've had no issues really.
