ooVoo today announced an Android version of its video chatting platform. ooVoo for Android supports live video chats between Android phones, as well as with PCs or Macs because it also offers desktop software (similar to Skype). According to ooVoo, its app allows for up to six users to participate in a simultaneous video chat, and it will run on Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G networks. ooVoo also says that the application allows for texting, contact integration and support for ooVoo-to-ooVoo voice calls. ooVoo for Android is available from the Android Market starting today, though it only supports the HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Epic 4G to start. ooVoo said it will add compatibility to more phones over time, including the iPhone in early 2011.
