Oct 21, 2010, 9:03 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today marked the official launch of the Marketplace for Windows Phone, as WP7 handsets go on sale in other markets around the world. With the launch, a number of big-name applications have been added to the Marketplace, and should offer most users what they need to make up for functionality not provided by WP7 itself. Some social networking apps available include Facebook, Foursquare, Seesmic and other Twitter clients. Games available include Bejeweled, Frogger, Monopoly, Tetris, and The Sims. Entertainment apps include Netflix, IMDb, Fandango, Flixster, Ustream, and U-verse. Music and video apps include Youtube, iheartradio, Last.fm, Slacker, Shazam, and Local Concerts. Other assorted apps include eBay, Craigslist, Photobucket, BBC News, WeatherChannel, Huffington Post, Travelocity, Yelp, Where, Adobe Reader, and Wikipedia. Windows Phone 7 devices will launch on AT&T and T-Mobile's networks in early November, and will have access to these apps and more.
