3G Americas Turns the Dial Up a Notch, Now 4G Americas

3G Americas, the trade association that supports the 3GPP family path of mobile technology, has changed its name to 4G Americas. The group was formed to support standards and technical requirements for GSM networks, and the name change points to an obvious interest in the future of cellular networking. Though the association made no specific 4G announcements, the group says its new, broader mission statement could include new types of members.
