Nokia recently updated a private beta version of its Ovi Browser for Series 40 devices to a 1.0 release and is offering it for download. Nokia says that the new browser for Series 40 devices offers speedier browsing with better compression that should help reduce data charges. Nokia will begin preloading browser on Series 40 handsets starting in 2011. Until then, it works on a number of handsets, including the 2700 Classic, 5310 XpressMusic, 5330 Xpressmusic, 5610, 6500 Slide, 6500 Classic, 6600 Slide, 6700 Classic, 7210 Supernova, 7900 Prism and X3.
