Apple Says iPhone Security Fix in the Works

Apple has officially acknowledged a security issue in the iOS browser and PDF software which could lead to problems for iPhone owners. "We're aware of this reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update," Apple told Cnet. The exploit is being used to help jailbreak and unlock iOS devices such as the iPhone 4, 3GS, and 3G. Though the U.S. government recently said iPhone owners have a right do to this, Apple maintains that jailbreaking an iPhone voids the warranty. Apple didn't say when the software fix would be distributed.

Needs to be fixed

This is a -major- security issue. Glad Apple has a fix, but whoa.

(Ironically, it's an um... Adobe format.)
isnt pdf open source now..? from what I have been hearing, apple is using their own PDF type reader.
True, it's PDF, a file-format originally created by Adobe, but the file-format specification has nothing to do with this particular security hole.

The problem is Apple's own implementation of the PDF reader. Of course, if you have already jailbrok...
