Google today has added new functionality to Google Docs for mobile devices. iPhone, Android and iPad users will now be able to view a number of different file types directly in the browser without the need to download the file first. The new file types supported include PDFs, .ppt, .doc and .docx. Users still won't be able to interact with or edit their documents, but they can be opened directly from Google Documents and support features such as pinch-to-zoom. The new functionality is already available. Google has not said if/when Documents users will be able to edit their documents from mobile browsers.
