HTC Desire Hitting U.S. Carriers in August

HTC today announced that it will be bringing the Desire Android handset to the U.S. via "select regional operators" in August. The Desire was announced earlier this year. It runs Android 2.1. and has a 1GHz processor. HTC didn't specify which carriers.

Does anyone know any details about the phone and what it is going to be able to do? Are we looking at another Evo or another Hero?

Yes, you can read. Congrats.

The Desire currently runs 2.1, so that is likely what it will ship with. HTC has already committed to getting 2.2 to most of their Android devices before the year is out. Just go play with your iPhone.
