HTC Desire Hitting U.S. Carriers in August

HTC today announced that it will be bringing the Desire Android handset to the U.S. via "select regional operators" in August. The Desire was announced earlier this year. It runs Android 2.1. and has a 1GHz processor. HTC didn't specify which carriers.

HTC Desire

Think of the Desire as the Nexus One, but with slightly better hardware and the addition of Sense UI. It carries forward many of the specs of the Nexus One, including the display and processor. It feels great to hold. All the metallica ...

Yes, you can read. Congrats.

The Desire currently runs 2.1, so that is likely what it will ship with. HTC has already committed to getting 2.2 to most of their Android devices before the year is out. Just go play with your iPhone.
