FTC Okays HP Acquisition of Palm

In an SEC filing, Palm says the FTC yesterday granted early termination of the waiting period for its acquisition by HP. The proposed merger is still subject to approval by Palm's stockholders, who are meeting on June 25.

Good combination - expect an HP Palm tablet from this

Countering the iPad with a big WebOS device. Not a bad idea!
Do you really think there will be any WebOS products from HP before the end of this year? I'd be surprised if there are, maybe they will have a product to showcase at CES in January.

Follow the leader

Hp only did what it had to do to survive the next tech evolution and that is phones will cancel kill off the laptop and pc's. Smartphones will literally have the same specs as laptops, and pc's in less than 2ys and with it being convenient to carry around sales will increase, and the pc and laptop will be extinct. Apple knows it, and Dell just caught on not long ago announcing a smartphone of there own. Just my prediction of what's coming down the pike.
I can not see PC's becoming extinct. But I can see smartphones becoming closer and closer to the capabilities of what computers do.
