Appeals Court Allows Class Action Suit Against Verizon Wireless

The U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals today overturned a lower court ruling barring plaintiffs in a case against Verizon Wireless from joining together as a class, according to Reuters. The lawsuit concerns the imposition of administrative charges on contract agreements. Verizon Wireless' contract says that individuals must seek individual arbitration, and though a District Court upheld that rule, the Third Circuit Court disagreed, and customers may now band together as a larger group for a class action claim.

sometimes big companies need to be taken down a peg or 27. otherwise they're allowed to create these outlandish rules just for doing business with them and 8 out of 10 times the customer is the one who gets the short end of the stick and has to pay heavily when facing a large company.
Yeah, but there are other, BETTER ways of going about it. Like, I don't know, don't use their service... Good for the class action lawyer though, I'm sure he needed the money.

All this did was increase lawyer payouts for both sides

Class action suits= each person getting $10 and the lawyer getting millions.
$10?? If they're lucky, they'll get something closer to $1 each... Thats the nature of Class Action suits. The attorney's trick is to play upon the plantiff's emotions so they sign on for the emotional payoff as opposed to any significant financial ...

i left verizon because of their so called "administrative charges"

i don't care if i get any money. its matter of principles. people needs to know they are being bent over with their pants down.
