Sony Ericsson Exits CDMA for North America

updated   Sony Ericsson today announced that it will discontinue the development of CDMA mobile phones for the North American market. Discussions are underway with carrier partners to determine the fate of the company's T606 and T608 CDMA models. In addition, the company will reduce GSM/UMTS R&D activities to fewer sites. Sony Ericsson remains committed to GSM, UMTS, and EDGE products, as well as CDMA phones for the Japanese market and CDMA machine-to-machine modules.
