Google today announced the beta availability of Eclipse Labs, a new set of tools that developers for the Android platform can use to write applications. Eclipse is an open source-driven initiative that provides a range of developer environments and instruments. The Beta Eclipse Labs is being hosted by the Google Project Hosting. Google calls it "a single place where anyone can start and maintain their open source projects based on the Eclipse platform with just a few clicks." It can also be used to develop for Google's Chrome browser. Google already makes SDKs and APIs available to developers interested in writing for Android.
