OMG NO ONE CARES!!!

Just get a leaked version or install from the SD card the ROM updates like the rest of us. Ugh, stop waiting for the carriers, manufacturers to release things...this is America for goodness sake!
I upgraded my DROID way before Big Red/ Motorola handed out 2.1.
I'm so over Android, back to Blackberry.

Do the dumbs know that Big Red has not updated the Eris either?

I think the main difference is they now have 2 other devices that are 2.1.

Honestly I dont know what to think of the hero update. They have sense 2.1, they have stable leaked roms so you know the coding is there.

Oh, look, it's Dr. Doom.

Flash sucks! If you don't get your Android update immediately the earth will blow up! Whatever popular tech you like, I say it sucks!

Ugh.

Apples update will be on time...

I laugh at all you Fandroids and how you stand behind a product that is so controlled by corporations that don't care about you. I have yet to see a major update go through on Android without being postponed or cancelled or done in several roll outs. Sure the operation system is "open" but your $200 phone is outdated 2 months after purchasing it and will never get updates that it can support.

perfect example... all the Sprint Fandroids that still cant use 2.2 because Sprint/Google doesnt care.

Because they only update once a year.

I laugh at how little you know about an industry you can't help but comment on.

And genius, 2.2 isn't out yet

You, like deepbluesky, should just stop posting. You're just embarrassing yourself.

Really? Seriously? How is your flavor of koolaid any better?

Carriers are in it to make money... Really? How is Apple any better? For the same item, you pay *MORE* for *LESS* functionality. Yet they are supposedly better? Fashion is over-priced.

Why do you care if people like Android? I don't like Apple, but I really could care less if you use their phone. But you are comparing Apple and oranges, if you'll forgive the pun. Android is available on a wide array of hardware and devices. On t...

Devices on 2.0 or higher?

So which devices in the United States are running Android 2.0 or higher? Off the top of my head:

Moto DROID
HTC Incredible
HTC Nexus One
The Moment & Hero on Sprint... and Eris on Verizon... are supposed to be updated "soon".

Which in business talk means sometime before 2012 (Which I assume they are hoping ends the world so they won't be arsed to finish the upgrade).

The Evo will...

Um

Wasn't it planned for Q2? Is this story old?
it was planned for the early q2 but i would expect it to be out by the week the evo comes out. i spoke with tech earlier and there still saying the there isn't a release date yet for the update.
Ha! I had the same thought. Last time I checked, we're already well into Q2.

Maybe they meant to say Q2.1 - 😁

Not only was it originally planned for Q2 release in every single release I have seen (sometimes people can be misquoted, or speak outside of what they actually know) but this would have been fairly obvious as soon as your calendar read 4/1 and we did...

I bet you it's because of one of Sprint's POS apps...

I bet that has everything to do with this delay 🙄
If you don't need or want those POS apps just flash to 2.1 now. Not exactly rocket science.

Patience is not just a virtue.....

it can also be a reward. Google is supposed to possibly make an announcement on May 19th. I have suspicions that Android 2.2 is going to be released. If this is true, Sprint may have heard this and jump right to 2.2.

"IF" this does happen, I would think the whiners and complainers on this topic at hand, would welcome the wait.

Big Surprise

I have gotten email responses from Dan's office as well as there head media guy with the same canned response. Honestly I think all they care abt is there Evo and that is not good business sense. Ludicrous to use a big word lol!
sprints face should be 🤭
