Just so everyone gets a chance...

...to see what Opera Mini can do. Didn't want anyone reading that first 'review' and blowing off this terrific microbrowser.

Bluecoyote's 30 second review.

1) If you're on EDGE it's worth it. It makes a whopping difference.

2) If you're on 3G it makes a minimal difference, especially on the 3GS.

3) The UI is crap.

4) No seriously, the UI is crap. It feels like using an Android app. Where to begin- the UI doesn't follow any iPhone UI conventions (i.e. Back button in the upper left, toggle switches, etc.) The page zoom is arbitrary and usually is wrong- text is either too large or small. There's a lot of wasted screen real estate. Scrolling is bad, too.

5) Page rendering is crap. It's on par with other versions of Opera Mini, but it's a noticeable devolution from Safari.

6) Basically it's worth it if you want to try to read stuff ASAP and you just want to access it quickly ov...

APPLE IS EVIL

STEVE JOBS or should I SAY JOB$$$$ IS EVIL bECAUSE APPLE IS PROPRIETARY AND WANTS YOU TO PAY FOR STUFF. 👿
Proprietary can be good and bad. I really dislike proprietary hardware connectors and I'm glad that soon the iPhone will have microUSB for charging.

pay for a free opera browser? 😳

I hate apple... And wish them death... But complaining about payng for a free browser?

Seriously awesome, fast and a little quirky.

One of the things that first grabbed my attention was the speed... holy crap. It took no time at all to load graphics rich pages. the New York Times took a wopping 3 seconds to fully load. wow.

I don't like the single-tap to zoom, I prefer the double tap and there is no way to change this option back.

I am also having a little bit of trouble loading some (not all) parts of my favorite websites. (xanga.com)

Tabbed browsing=awesome.
search function is great.
navigation is simple

I love this browser!
quirky? really. your insane dude.
I downloaded the app and it works pretty quickly. Since I am generally on Wifi or the 3G network, I am cool with Safari. But I bet this thing absolutely kills it when only EDGE is available. We shall see...But good app overall.

I want to say that m...

It's Available

Just got it, seems to run pretty good, so far. But only have it a minute or two.
I loved it on my Blackberry. I use it from time to time on my android now, but I still mainly use the default browser (since connection is not an issue) it is a HUGE boon for iphone users who frequently travel in Edge markets.

AT&T maybe pushed

Do you think AT&T call Apple. AT&T are the one taking the hit. If opera cuts data traffic, AT&T networks benefits
To be honest, it has nothing to do with AT&T, any more then all global carriers asking Apple or having some meeting with them.
