Today the Wall Street Journal reports that Microsoft is prepared to unveil a new series of devices on April 12. Citing sources "familiar with" Microsoft's plans, the devices will be aimed at younger users, will be heavily geared towards users of social networks, and will launch on Verizon Wireless' network in the coming months. The Journal says the devices in question fall under the "Project Pink" moniker, and were developed by the former Danger team (which developed the SideKick line of devices). The "Project Pink" devices will not run Windows Phone 7, but will run a new operating system developed by Microsoft for this type of user. The devices will be made by Sharp, Danger's long-time manufacturing partner. The FCC approved a device made by Sharp with a CDMA radio on board in February of this year. It's possible the FCC-approved Sharp device is one of the new phones in question. Microsoft has not confirmed, this, but Phone Scoop was invited by Microsoft to attend a special event on April 12 in San Francisco.

Very excited!

I wonder if this is why Apple announced the April 8th event for the iPhone, as a kind of a preemptive attack...

Anyway, I am incredibly excited to see what Microsoft has to announce, hopefully it will be something good!

I want Windows phone 7, or whatever it's called now, it looks amazing!
I am very excited too. However, I am also plagued with some reservations. Some tech sites that favor the iphone, have been raving about win7. Saying Apple now has true competition. Yet the very thing that is an attraction for them, seems to scare me. ...

I am interested, but if this is a CDMA only device(s), then there is little to get excited about.
While I too am really for the Windows 7 Phones...the phones this story is referring are not windows 7.

Well, the Microsoft Dream is reality!

Ah, finally, it's true. Long waited Microsoft phones do exist and are coming. They do want part of Americans hard earned dollars (that iPhone is currently taking)
😢 🤣 😢
