Today AT&T said that it will begin offering Motorola's Backflip Android phone starting on March 7. The Backflip will be the first Android handset to be offered by AT&T. It runs Motorola's MOTOBLUR social networking software, which so far has only be offered to T-Mobile customers in the U.S. It will cost $100 after mail-in rebate with new contract. The Backflip was introduced by Motorola in January. AT&T also said that the company is planning to roll out four more Android devices during the first half of 2010. Those devices will come from Dell, HTC and Motorola. AT&T didn't say how many devices would come from each of the three suppliers. Dell introduced several Android based handsets in 2009. Both HTC and Motorola have a handful of Android devices being offered by other networks.

Motorola's New Budget Phone is Already Very Popular

Motorola today announced the moto g pure , the company's latest entry-level phone. The phone will be sold by essentially every carrier in the US, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, Metro, Boost, US Cellular, and Xfinity.
So
Is anyone buying the MOTOBLUR stuff? 😕
I have had a Motorola CLIQ since last year and I happened to love MOTOBLUR. It's a really cool feature. Now that AT&T has it and this BACKFLIP device looks awesome. Looks like I will be switching to AT&T.
Strange!!!
So the back of this phone has the keyboard exposed when the flip is closed?
If so that's ugly!!!
LOL. The Cliq looks better.
It pretty much means you can't use any sort of shell or skin to protect the back of the phone.
It would make more sense if it flipped and rotated.
I suppose with touchscreen smartphones, there isn't a lot that can really be done from a design se...

Yep! I wonder who would buy this dorky arse looking phone.
Well at least there will be other Android phones coming out from ATT.
It is kinda ugly when the keys are lit up. But when it is actually folded back and the keys aren't lit up, it doesn't look half bad. Not pretty, but the keys are flush enough to make it look like they are an artistic choice instead of a keyboard.
My Plan
I'll get the Backflip because I have very much wanted an Android phone for quite a while. The Backflip is OK, but, not impressed with the Processor, MotoBlur is cool.
But, what I will likely do is buy one and then if I do not like it, or another quality Android comes out (Mini 5? at a decent price) I have 30 days to return or exchange it. So, I'll be happy either way.
As opposed to any other touchscreen phone? Really, there isn't a lot of leeway in design once the screen gets to a certain size. Other than rounded vs. square corners and color, how much are any of these physically different?
