Motorola Serves Up Cliq XT

Motorola today announced the Quench / Cliq XT, a new Android phone with MOTOBLUR software. The Quench sports a 3.1-inch multi-touch display plus a "laptop-like" touch pad below the display. Other hardware features include a 5-megapixel camera, 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi, memory card slot, GPS, and dual antennas for improved reception. On the software side, the phone runs Android 1.5, plus MOTOBLUR for social media integration, plus a new media player that integrates TuneWiki, SoundHound, GoTV, and YouTube. The phone will be called the Cliq XT in the US, and available exclusively through T-Mobile next month. It has quad-band GSM and WCDMA 900/1700/2100 with HSPA 7.2. A version called the Quench will be available in the rest of the world, supporting WCDMA 850/1900/2100.
