Updated: added details about Hawaii markets.

Today Clearwire will add the greater Seattle metropolitan area to its WiMax footprint, which now covers just over 30 million people across the U.S. The Seattle coverage area reaches from from Tacoma to Bellingham and from the Puget Sound to Issaquah, blanketing some 2,000 square miles in the region. WiMax services will be sold by both Clearwire and Sprint. Clearwire and Sprint also launched WiMax service in Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii. According to Clearwire, it now covers 27 major U.S. cities. Last Clearwire expanded is brick-and-mortal retail presence across many of the markets it already serves.
