Today Clearwire will add the greater Seattle metropolitan area to its WiMax footprint, which now covers just over 30 million people across the U.S. The Seattle coverage area reaches from from Tacoma to Bellingham and from the Puget Sound to Issaquah, blanketing some 2,000 square miles in the region. WiMax services will be sold by both Clearwire and Sprint. Clearwire and Sprint also launched WiMax service in Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii. According to Clearwire, it now covers 27 major U.S. cities. Last Clearwire expanded is brick-and-mortal retail presence across many of the markets it already serves.

buildout is as fast as thier network

holy crap... they are going really fast on this build out. the coverage for hawaii is practically everywhere and so is seattle area. i cant wait for this to come to florida and central PA and NYC
I think NYC would be last because of the people there. They want to make sure its stable before the release, IMO. They would have to make sure it can handle the heavy usage.

So can...

I upgrade from my regular Sprint 3G data card to a WiMax one? 😕
Yes, data cards upgrade just like phones, so every 22 mnths in most cases. So if you've had your card for a couple years you should be fine.
