T-Mobile Says 21Mbps HSPA+ Coming in Mid-2010

T-Mobile recently shared some information with Phone Scoop regarding the status of its 3G network. According to spokesperson Amanda Ginther, T-Mobile's 3G network currently covers about 240 cities across the U.S. (170 million POPS), and should cover 200 million POPS by the end of 2009. Along with this build-out, T-Mobile is also boosting the speeds of its HSPA network in all regions covered to 7.2Mbps by the end of 2009. T-Mobile indicated that a number of handsets available on its network can access these faster speeds, including the HTC G1, myTouch 3G, TouchPro2 and Dash 3G, and the Motorola CLIQ and Samsung Behold II. T-Mobile is already trialling 21Mbps HSPA+ in the Philadelphia market, and plans to upgrade its HSPA footprint to HSPA+ across the country beginning in the middle of 2010.
