Today Motorola debuted a new mil-spec, ruggedized phone called the Quantico. The Quantico (named after the USMC base) is a tri-band clamshell CDMA phone, supporting 800/1700/1900MHz EVDO. It has a rubber-coated exterior with textured patterns to make it easier to grip. The Quantico can withstand a 30-minute dunk in up to three feet of water. It can also withstand extreme pressure, temperature, dust, shock, vibration and blowing rain. Other features include GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2.5mm headset jack, high performance speakerphone and a 1.3 megapixel camera. U.S. Cellular has started selling the Quantico for $99 after rebates with new agreement, or $190 via its pre-paid plans.
