Today Verizon Wireless and Google announced a new partnership whereby the two companies plan to offer a range of Android devices for Verizon's 3G and 4G networks. The devices will include form factors such as smartphones, netbooks, and other machine-to-machine hardware. Along with the devices, which will come from a wide number of manufacturers, the companies will make sure that an array of new and innovative applications are available for these devices. Verizon Wireless said that the first Android devices are set to be announced within the next couple of weeks, and two will be available before the end of 2009. The companies believe that their combined strengths will offer customers the best selection of hardware, services and network-based applications. The Android Market will be included on any Android phones that Verizon sells. Verizon said that it will offer applications such as Google Voice.
