TXTBlocker Tool Can Block Cell Features when Driving

Today a new company unveiled a product for parents and employers called TXTBlocker. TXTBlocker uses proprietary velocity and geographic algorithms to determine when a cell phone is likely in a moving vehicle. The service then lets parents or employers selectively disable texting functions, block certain numbers, or only permit incoming and outgoing calls to preset "safe lists" or emergency numbers. Account admins have full control over the service and can turn features on or off at any time. The service will become available later this year, and will cost $10 per month.

If you are the passenger, you are just S.O.L. Make sure that you keep a personal phone. I see so many individuals turn over their blackberries which they personally purchased onto their company's BES. I just shake my head at them.

I Don't Like This

Wow! Another reason to refuse a company phone.
@azeron

So what you are saying is if you did have a Company issued phone, and you texted at the same as you were driving, then you are willing to risk the entire wealth of the Company?

Guess what, even if you have a personal cell phone that you ...

It is not just texting and it is not only if the person is driving.

Moving & Running

How does it know the difference between someone running, jogging and/or riding a bike?

How do you know a person is driving and not working out?
Presumably it uses some sort of triangulation method to calculate your speed.
