Samsung Announces 1GHz Mobile Processors

Today Samsung unveiled a new line of processors for mobile devices, including smartphones. Both the S5PC110 and S5PV210 are 1GHz ARM CORTEX-A8-based application processors. They use 45nm processes for improved battery performance and have 528MB L2 caches. Other features include support for 3D graphics, 3D user interfaces, and 30 frames per second HD video playback and recording. The S5PC110, which is aimed at smartphones in particular, supports USB 2.0, HDMI 1.3 and comes in a 14x14mm package. The chips will be sampling at the end of December 2009.
