Qwest Gives Customers 60 Days Notice to Switch

Qwest Wireless has begun informing its subscribers that they have 60 days to sever their Qwest Wireless service and switch to another wireless service provider. The company had announced in 2008 that it planned to exit the wireless business, and it has been reselling Verizon Wireless services. Qwest customers can switch without paying an early termination fee and may port their number to their new carrier. Qwest said that any customers who have not switched by September or October will automatically be routed to a live agent who will remind them to change service providers every time they make an outgoing call. Because Qwest is a Verizon reseller, customers can choose to bundle their Qwest wireline and Verizon Wireless services together. Qwest plans to cease offering its wireless network service on October 31, 2009.
