Sprint to Sign-Up for Samsung's AMOLED Phones

Today Sprint representatives confirmed that they are planning to add some Samsung handsets to their lineup that use AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen technology. AMOLED displays are brighter and more power efficient than LCDs. The tech will appear in high-end handsets first.

brighter?

i didn't know we needed our screens to be brighter. i think they are pretty sufficient enough. Unless you are in the dark all the time.... 🙂
The push is for less energy consumption which these screens will help in meeting these requirements.

Also, sunny days definitely hamper the ease of visual use. I welcome a brighter screen.

They're always the first! Gotta love em'.
Didn't Verizon announce the Omnia 2 with a few months ago, which has a 3.7in AMOLED screen.

Last I heard it was a 3rd quarter release device. If Sprint also releases the Omnia 2 it would interesting to see the differences or which different devic...

Tmobile is suppose to get the Samsung Galaxy that will have an AMOLED screen. Thats suppose to come out 4th quarter.
AT&T already released a phone with AMOLED, the Samsung Impression.
