Today Sprint announced the Reclaim from Sprint, a phone that was made with 80% recycled materials. The phone's charger consumes 12 times less power than the Energy Star standard requires. The outer casing is made from 40% bio-plastics and the packaging materials are made form 70% recycled materials. The Reclaim is a slider with full QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera with video capture, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, support for up to 32GB microSD cards. It runs the OneClick user interface and has easy access to a number of eco-friendly guides and web sites. The Reclaim costs $50 and will be available in all Sprint channels starting on August 16. Along with the Reclaim, Sprint plans to reduce paper consumption by 30%, help raise consumer awareness of eco-friendly usage, and reduce the energy consumption of its stores and operations.
